A gaudy mural painting for our little Kobold
Hello dear Steemians... how have you been?
I am glad that I finally managed to find time to update my blog again. ^_^
The weather is getting better and our little princess wants to play outside all day long and I have been working on my garden too. That's why I had not much time left to write anything for this blog.
Especially since I need to continue decorating our little imp's room too.
My goal is to finish this project before her birthday comes.
You can see the progress of my project in the following pictures.
The colour of the same pictures may have a slight difference. It's because the picture were not taken at the same time.
Sometimes it was taken during the day so that we have a natural lighting from the sun and sometimes the pictures were taken at night when we got a warm lighting from an LED lamp.
It's painted directly on the wall using water colour, whereas the right side of the blackboard ===>>> the cute 2 little hedgehogs are drawn using Polychromos coloured pencils. Polychromos pencils are oil based coloured pencils.
The colour is actually more beautiful and bright, however since it's in a small size, so it's less showy. I know the proportion and the materials don't actually suit to each others to be put together. However I don't want to mix it with the summer section of pictures so let's just put up with it.
The most important thing is: our little one loves it LOL.

This is the left side of the wall, where I also put the autumn forest drawing above the crib.
On the wall is a silhouette of a beautiful fairy writing the first name of our little princess in javanese old letters.
Yes, true. The Javanese folks actually also have their own letters, they derived from Sanskrit..
However unfortunately.. the young generations these days may no longer know how to write with it.
I'm not even sure whether it is still properly taught in the school in Central Java. Probably in Yogyakarta the people might still have concern to preserve this skill but I'm not really sure about another Province in Java.
I am also wondering if the Balinese people are still proficient in this.
Frankly speaking, I also only know how to write and read the normal letters, but if you ask me to differenciate between capital letters and the more complicated rules in writing, I am no longer proficient either.
Our baby has two first names. The second part is indeed a Sanskrit name, but the first one is a modern one but coincidentally rather simple and represented well in our letters, so I don't even need to convert it into Javanese.
I can write both name directly using our traditional letter.
The last picture shows the master piece of our little Kobold. Well, to be exact they are collaboration of the little princess and Mommy. ^_^ She has her own sketch notebook which is nearly full by her scribbles. I just torn few of them to hang on the wall. ^_^

Wow! This is a very cute and colorful painting! Did you have a sketch or an idea about the final image in mind or did you just start directly on the wall and looked for what will be the result?
The little hedgehogs look very cute and natural. I like those little animals :-)
Well, I first browsed some interior design in parenting forums or pinterest to get the basic ideas. Finally I just chose the animals she likes the most. My design concept is to show her the full circle of nature in 4 seasons. Here you only see the spring and autumn part. The summer section was posted few weeks ago. They were butterflies in realism.
The ones in the present pictures are only silhouette.
The fairy figure is there to present her name.
Ich bin nicht so erfahren mit Aquarell. Vor allem an der Wand mit rau Tapetten ist es gar nicht so einfach realistische Bilder mit Aquarellfarbe zu erzeugen.
Ich möchte aber nicht großflächig mit Acryl oder Ölfarbe an der Wand direkt malen. Die Wand kann sonst nicht mehr atmen, das ist gar nicht gut.
Deshalb habe ich dann eher nur bunte einfache Figuren gemalt. Die realistische Bilder sind dann lieber aufs Papier und eher klein.
Ich bin jetzt noch am Überlegen wie ich die Winterlandschaft gestalten soll. Die Wand ist relativ breit .

Aquarell ist an der Wand bestimmt auch schwer, wenn du es mit Wasser verwischen willst - und dafür ist es ja normalerweise da. Nicht, dass nachher noch alles unkontrolliert runter läuft und ihr die Wand wieder weiß streichen müsst :-\
Zum Winter fällt mir jetzt ein alter Scherz aus der Schule ein: Lass die Wand einfach weiß und sag der Kleinen, dass das ein Schneesturm ist ;-) Aber ernsthaft, vielleicht ein paar Tannenbäume, schön beleuchtete Häuser und einen Schneemann? :-)

Dazu noch, dass die Aquarellfarben auch transparent sind, sodass es schwierig ist, eine große Fläche mit den gleichen Farbtönen zu bedecken, vor allem weil sie sehr schnell trocknen. Damit die Farbe leuchtend genug sind, muss man ja sehr große Menge Farbe verwenden. Für realistische Bilder braucht man aber meistens mehr als 2 Farben zu mischen. Deshalb ist es auch sehr schwierig, genau dieselbe Mischung zu machen, wenn man großen Figuren an der Wand erzeugen möchte.
Mural Painting mit sehr tollen Ergebnis kann man nur draußen erzeugen, da man deckende Farben und auch besser passende Arbeitsmittel verwenden kann... Wie die schöne Graffiti an der Saar zu sehen sind. :-D

Die Igel finde ich besonders entzückend. Schön, dass du auch den Entstehungsprozess dokumentiert hast. Ganz süß ist auch die wunderschöne Fee, wie sie Kobold‘s Namen auf die Wand zaubert. Und die Meisterwerke der kleinen Prinzessin setzen dem Ganzen noch die Krone auf! ;-)
Die Igel findet die Kleine auch sehr süß. Ich hoffe aber, dass sie nicht auf die Idee kommt, die Igel plötzlich zu "schmucken". Im Moment futtert sie ihre Stofftiere gerne mit echtem Essen, das macht viel Sauerei hahaha..

Dibilang "Gak iso gambar blas" sih agak berlebihan ya. Kalau sama sekali ngga bisa, mana mungkin bisa menghias kue tart dengan cantik hehehehe.

Wow, das sieht super aus. Finde ich sehr schön und interessanter als eine gekaufte Tapete, die überall das gleiche Muster drin hat.

Nun wenn man nicht selbst malen kann, gibt es noch Wandtattoos. Die kann man einzeln zuschneiden und mit etwas Kreativität auch einzigartiges Design zusammenstellen. :)
Oder ein Motiv aus dem Computer ausdruckt und danach ausmalt.
Ist dir sehr gut gelungen. An der Wand malen ist sicherlich nicht einfach.
Es hängt davon ab, welche Farbe und Arbeitsmittel verwendet werden.
Für Innenraum gibt es leider nicht zu viel Auswahl, da man auch kein giftiges Zeug benutzen und auch die Wand nicht beschädigen möchte.
Aquarell ist die beste und die günstigste Auswahl, wenn man nur ein einziges Zimmer schmucken möchte. Sie hat halt leider ihre Grenze, die Farben sind nicht deckend.
Ein Set Wandfarben dafür zu kaufen ist aber zu viel Geldverschwendung, vor allem weil die Farbreste keine Verwendung mehr finden.
Stimmt, so habe ich gar nicht darüber nachgedacht. Fand es in der Vergangenheit schon echt schwer Wandfarbe für nur ein kleines Zimmer zu finden, weil immer etwas übrig bleibt. Aber dein Ergebnis kann sich wirklich sehen lassen.
Das sind ja lauter kleine Kunstwerke, vor allem die Igel sind besonders schön geworden und werden von der Kleinen sicher schnell ins Herz geschlossen. :)
Beim Regenbogen ist es diese heftige Farbintensität, die sofort ins Auge fällt und Blicke auf sich zieht, da kann ich aus Laiensicht nur sagen, dass es sich bestimmt lohnen wird, diese Stifte weiter zu verwenden.
Kinder mögen bunte Farben, deshalb Regenbogen ist immer eine gute einfache Auswahl ^_^
Laien können auch Regenbogen relativ gut aus einem Muster ausmalen. Man kann eine Hilfsmittel holen, etwa ein Zirkel oder irgendwelche kreisförmige Gegenstände in verschiedenen Größen.

BTW, itu kamarnya jadi kelihatan minimalis, bersih, dan cerah. Keren, karena bisa didekorasi sendiri. Walaupun kelihatan sederhana, pasti bakalan hancur berantakan juga kalau gak teliti :D

WOW! Very wonderful artworks for your little princess’ room! I do really love every details that you did in the paintings and I always admire you that you did them from all of your love to your “little princess”! I can feel these from your paintings and your wordings, i.e. “the most important thing is: our little one loves it”, etc. You are Super Mom, as I always said, indeed!
The mural painting is very excellent with the colorful rainbow, bright color of clouds, magnificent sun, gorgeous flowers, beautiful bee and cute ladybugs, etc. And the most attractive one is the name of your little princess, “Jana” in the center of the wall….. Great idea!
I also like the 2 little hedgehogs. They are really cute in wonderful garden with lovely flowers.

It’s great to see the first name of your little princess in javanese old letters and thank you for providing interesting details about the Javanese folks. These similar to us, some Thai words derived from Sanskrit, too. And the letter for “na” in “Jana” in Javanese old letter looks like Thai letter “ณา” and pronounces the same.
Last but not least, I love the masterpieces of your little princess; “the collaboration of the little princess and Mommy”. You both did great artworks together and it is very good idea that you show these on the wall!

Yes, I think there must be many similar letters between Tha alphabets and Javanese, since they derived from the same language and culture. Javanese were once strong buddhist too in the past.
Btw... the more older Javanese language that is partly used in a traditional opera show or puppet show has actually also different sets of alphabet, I just never learnt that alphabet. However from a short look they have more similarity to Thai alphabet set.
That's some example of traditional alphabet from different tribes in Indonesia. There are still some more, since Indonesia has hundreds of tribes. This picture was uploaded in Facebook by Komunitas Aksara Sunda Bogor.
Yeah! I'm glad to hear that! And these traditional alphabet from different tribes in Indonesia are very interesting. From the list, the alphabets that are most similar to old Thai alphabets are the ones from Jawa, Bali and NTB. Thanks so much for sharing. ;)
