 The reason for the presence of a huge number of waterfalls in Iceland is a special structure on the island of continental crustal layers and a variety of landscapes. 

 The second reason are the glaciers of Iceland, which in summer is actively melting, filling with water the numerous islands of the river. The rivers become turbulent, the water level rises, and soon formed the magnificent waterfalls, different in size, capacity and shape. 

 More than 10% of Iceland is covered by glaciers  

 Iceland is almost devoid of forests, woodlands account for only about 1% of the total area of ​​the island. 

 Contrary to the name and the presence of glaciers, Iceland - not an Arctic country. the country's climate is maritime, moderately cool, windy, wet and changeable. The average temperature does not fall in the winter months below -4 ° C.
