Stunning natural wonders that you didn't know

Ice cave Mendenhall (Alaska, USA)

Imagine yourself standing under a huge crystal dome, illuminated from the inside mesmerizing bluish light... Visit the ice caves of Mendenhall, you will get a unique chance to visit the "heart" of the Arctic glacier stretching for 12 miles (each year this figure is shrinking due to global warming). This natural wonder is located near Juneau in Southeast part of Alaska. You will also be able to enjoy the pristine Northern nature and observe polar bears, North American porcupines (porcupine) and eagles in their natural habitat.

Chocolate hills (Bohol, Philippines)

Chocolate hills, an amazing geological formation, at first glance, you involuntarily recall the landscape of the most popular games of the 90s "Super Mario". The grassy mounds perfect shape, resembling a huge cracovii mounds, scattered in the wooded grounds: according to calculations, such entities in area of 50 km2, there are as many as 1776! The hills owe brown shade that acquires grass in the dry season – from afar they resemble chocolate truffles. The tour starts in the small town of Carmen on Bohol island.

Sea caves beach of Benagil (Algarve, Portugal)

Once you go to one of these amazing stone structures in the Algarve, before you overlook the massive arcade, which is a real architectural masterpiece, created by nature itself. Caves as if cut into the rock, located near the fishing village of Benagil, where tourists can boat to reach scattered along the coast of the Lagoa small Islands with wild beaches. The caves are at a distance of 150 m from the main beach, but you can get there only by water. If the sea is calm, you can even distance swim. You can also reach the caves by kayak and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

The River Caño Cristales (Colombia)

One glance at this creation of nature to understand why this river was named that way (locals call it "restless rainbow"). Every year for several weeks (September-November) the river begins to resemble an artist's palette – a riot of colors cause the algae growing in large quantities on the bottom of the river (Macarenia clavigera). No vehicle is capable of reproducing the color scheme, which does not leave indifferent anyone who will be lucky enough to see it with my own eyes – from bright red and rich crimson to the iridescent yellow-brown, mixed with green and blue. The river flows through the national Park Serrania de La Macarena (Department of Meta). Tourism in this region began to develop relatively recently; several companies offer convenient routes from Bogota.

A UNESCO (Norway)

I do not advise to visit this place for those who suffer from seasickness. Tidal flow in Northern Norway in the narrow Strait near the town of Bodo, is one of the world's strongest tidal currents – swirling whirlpools up to 10 m in diameter are a truly fascinating sight. Eddies are formed due to the speed at which 400 m3 of water with great speed to burst through the Strait with a width of 150 m at high tide. So it's important to observe all precautions and not to rock the boat during the approach.
