RE: The Tragedies in The Beautiful Autumn Leaves

in #photography6 years ago

A beautiful post, @slowwalker.

I find the fall season to be colourful but solemn. I think it's reflective of life in the sense that there is a beautiful sadness that permeates nature - the ancient Romans called it lacrima rerum which literally means. 'tears for things.'

So, it's particularly appropriate that you visited a war memorial in autumn, a time when the mind and senses grow naturally wistful and we reflect on sober things. It seems paradoxical that the death of leaves be accompanied by such a blazing burst of colour as if nature is saying that seedtime and harvest are but two aspects of the same thing.

Your photos were lovely. Have a pleasant day, my friend.
