What Type of Content Does Steemit Need?

in #photography8 years ago

What determines the value that a post is given? What kind of content do we need on Steemit to make this platform a success?

The answer is Steemit Original Content.

We need people who will come here and share content for steemit only. I like to think of this site like a news site because people take their own pictures and have writers who comment on the pictures to create content for their site.

Today I went to the Sepulveda pass which connects Westside Los Angeles with The Valley. I've been messing around with long exposure shots on my phantom 4.

I put the drone up near the 405 freeway (I made sure I had a lot of satellite connections so there was no risk of a flyaway drone landing on the freeway), set the exposure to 8 seconds, and snapped away.

Note to self: Don't move the camera (drone) while taking long exposure shots. It looks cool even though its a mess up.

This picture is from farther up the pass. It was all done safely, I made sure I had a strong GPS signal and made sure not to fly it directly over the freeway.

hello @johngalt I see you're in the LA area too. Cool. I believe there is to be a STEEMIT LA MEETUP or something. Anyway, just saying hi. Up vote and a Follow is next. Thanks.
@streetstyle

Could you reply with a link? I can't find it through a google search or on Meetups.com when I searched for steemit.

First of all ...cool pics @johngalt
I'm new here and think the platform is great , but I wonder how exclusive can you keep things when your content has to be uploaded to 3rd party sites like youtube and imgur first ?

Right now there are image hosting websites created by fellow steemers, so there is no need to upload to imgur. I uploaded there because I've used imgur before but I'll switch over to a different one for my next post. Now all we need is a steemit video hosting site so that I don't have to use youtube to upload my videos to.

We need to know that steemit will live, because atm it's slowly dying. Lack of content, people leaving because they didn't get a gold mine

It's not dying because it wasn't every really growing as fast as everyone thought it was. That increase in users a few weeks ago doesn't count because they didn't produce anything of value for this community, yes there were more signups, but the average quality per post significantly dropped as everyone spammed in hopes of trending and making a huge payout. The price will slump for a while as payouts drop and newbs leave. But it'll pick back up again, the developers aren't going anywhere so it'll keep on being built up, one brick at a time.

The way its being advertised makes it seem like some Hybrid Facebook, Youtube, Reddit Anarchy Paradise. But when people get here, all they see is a reddit where only blogging is allowed.

I like your messed up picture

Cool pictures man!

thank you! I just checked out your blog, you've got some really awesome content that looks professional, it's wrong that I haven't seen you trending. Followed!
