I know, that you are crazy - who else would drive for many hours, just to go ice scating on a mountain lake in Austria? Every winter thousands of dutch ice skaters come to our Weißensee :)
So true indeed, driving for hours and to do what...ice skating for 200km. I am not that crazy, I only drive for hours for some gliding on the snow on two sticks.
Skiing is wonderful, but it is getting more and more expensive these days. I am somehow glad, that my children do not like skiing anymore, and we can save the money for our summer holidays :)
The prices for skiing are no fun anymore so I understand that you dont mind your children dont like it anymore. For the price of one week for the two of us we can go almost two weeks to Italy in the summer...
When our kids were younger, we have been in Italy for holidays, because they had fun building sand castles and so :)
Not we all prefer Croatia, because we like the country more and it is still a bit cheaper there ;)
Mali Lošinj is also very beautiful.

Indeed you get quite some kuna's for an euro. Great country for holidays, we used to go to the island Mali losjin.
