Incredible Views
These photos were taken at Yellowstone National Park and only scratch at the surface of the incredible splendour at the worlds first national park.
This picture was taken from Inspiration Point near Canyon Village.
In this picture you can see what appears to be a wall built into the side of the canyon wall. According to geologists this wall was created about 640,000 years ago after the Yellowstone volcano erupted. This is known as columnar basalt and is the result of thick lava flow cooling and cracking over time.
I have many more incredible photos to share from our summer in Yellowstone so check back often.
