Good morning @janton - or I should better say good night to you ;)

Since this is the last working day of the week, it should be great, thank you :)

You can see more and more Harleys on the Austrian streets, but also Japanese sports bikes, scooters and all other kinds and brands. My son rides an Italian Superbike (Brand: Beta, 125cc). For me it seems, that the motorcycle family is growing ;)

No, I am not a rebel, and if the name on the bike, which I have seen and loved from the first moment on, was Kawasaki or Jamaha or anything else, I would not care. But the name is Harley Davidson, and this is okay for me too. I am certainly not the typical Harley rider ... I have some Harley gear (leather jackets, helmet), but I am different from the other Harley riders, I think.
My helmet is a full face helmet, I wear gloves, a protecting leather jacket and motorcycle boots. My Jeans are motorcycle Jeans and when I go for a longer tour I have protectors for the Jeans and also for the jacket I am wearing.
I ride save and not like a bad ass, I greet whoever greets me, even scooters or mopeds ;) and I am not a member of a chapter or motorcycle club.
I prefer to ride alone and enjoy riding, like every other rider :)

Howdy again sir johannpiber! Well that is super interesting...what are motorcycle jeans, I don't even know what that is?
What about when it gets real hot, isn't all those clothes extremely hot?
I like all the protection though, that's how I'd do it.
is that bike that your son has a real fast one?

Mine look like ordinary jeans, but they are made of thicker fabric and have kevlar inlays. They also have pockets on the knees for knee protectors.

I prefer sweating than sitting on the bike unprotected.

No, he is 16 1/2 and with the drivers license he has he may only ride 125cc bikes. His bikes maximum speed is about 70-75 miles/h. Next year he can upgrade his drivers license and will be allowed to ride bigger bikes, and after another 2 years he can make the last upgrade to the full motorcycle license, which allows him to ride any bike :)

There are 3 (4) steps to get the full motorcycle license in Austria:

  • Moped (not neccessary)
  • A1 - 16 years - 125 ccm and max 11 kW (15 hp)
  • A2 - 18 years - max 35 kW (48 hp)
  • A - 20 years

Howdy sir johannpiber! oh ok, that's great information about the motorcycle jeans.
And I think the licencing thing is really good for the young riders.

Yes, @janton, when I was young I had to ride on a motorcycle for about 5 minutes and do a test. After this I had my license for all bikes. I think it is better like it is now.

oh so you are saying you are not qualified to ride? lol.

Good morning @janton 😀
I did not learn as much as they are learning nowadays, that's for sure 😆😎
