RE: Edge of the Beaver Island / Rand der Biberinsel
oh sir johann I thought you liked to be alone on those hikes?
Dang, I just got 6 downvotes in a row. I was hoping they were stopping this nonsense! oh well we'll see how it plays out.
Good morning Jonboy, yes, I like to be alone, because then I can take my time for photographing and I can walk my speed, which is not the slowest.
I was told by my father who has grown up in the mountains (like I also did ;) and who has been on many mountain peaks around the world, that you have to walk the speed that you like most = walk your speed.
And I have made the experience, that he is right, because when I go without waiting for the others or without hurrying to follow the faster ones I don't get tired so soon.
So I walk my speed when I am alone or with people apart from my family (sometimes I go for hikes with friends or with colleagues), and when my family acompanies me, I walk with them to have some family fun :) But unfortunately that is not very often :(
I try to upvote every comment I get - does it make sense to still upvote yours when you get nothing (of nearly nothing)? Never mind, I do it anyway :)
