Dead Tree from Yellow Springs
This is from a hike in yellow springs ohio. I was pretty worried about being able to get some good infrared pictures because the foliage was really thick. Normally, the best subject for infrared is an isolated tree or plant, but this is hard to get in the middle of a forest. I decided to turn this idea on its head and use the live foliage, which reflects infrared strongly, to frame some dead trees . Let me know what you think!
Cheers,
Chris
omg my favorite photo just changed :o
You cant have a favourite photo..while you are still following @irphotography because all the photo being shared are awesomely beautiful.
can't resist to agree with you
Me too!
Like the photo and attracted by the title, because in Chinese 'Yellow Spring' means the land of the dead, which is the place where all the dead people go.
woah thats very cool. Interestingly infrared cameras are sometimes used for ghost hunting. Maybe ill find some ghosts next time!
haha
You need to believe in ghost before you can find one.Do you?
On an SLR film camera there used to a red dot out of alignment to the normal focusing point (on the barrel of the lens) for the correct focusing point when using IR film. Is the focus point the same on a DSLR for normal and IR photography?
I also look forward to see what you did to a DSLR to make it shoot in IR.
The focus is sometimes different with different lenses. Hard to tell cuz different lenses have different coatings that react differently to ir. The only thing that really needs to be done is that the ir filter on the sensor is taken off.
That sounds like a permanent mod.
Just cleaning my sensor makes me nervous.
This photo remind me the Japan sakura's season! With all the cherry trees in full bloom! Sooo stuning!!! <3
Nice infrared, Chris!
Thank you!
