Summertime Sadness
It's summertime (here in the southern hemisphere) and I still have yet to get that Summertime Sadness. :(
Australia has this incredible warm reddish light similar to that of California, but a little bit darker. I think if you listen closely to a lot of Australian music (Stickyfingers, Midnight Oil) you can hear that it is profoundly influenced by the relaxed, warm, and slightly sad vibes here. Very relatable to the Lana Del Rey sound of being in love.
This photo on the other hand is me tripping balls on Mushrooms and is vivid. It's beautiful, but the opposite of how I like my Australian summer to be; relaxed yet sweeping by before I can catch it. Incredible and loving, but tinged with a lonely sadness.
