A walkthrough the beautiful land of Shillong the 'Scotland of the East'

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Hey everyone.. Recently I had been to Shillong, Meghalaya which is in the North East India. It was a great journey indeed. I have some photographs which I took during my journey. Hoping you will love like I did taking them.

I always prefer places like Shillong when it comes to travelling for a rest from your daily routine. You really get chilled with if once choose to visit it. I was with one of my friends, Karan.

Shillong is called the Scotland of the East. Once British used to have their North East headquarters at Shillong but as they found Cherapunji (Famous for heavy rain all over the world) wet, they moved away. Rolling hills in Shillong reminded Britishers of Scotland and thus they named it as "Scotland of the East"

Shillong is blessed with amazing natural beauties.. I'm sharing with you some of them. Hope it amuses you as well..

There were as many waterfalls there and we visited one of them but can't exactly remember it's name😁

Here are more photos of them..

Children enjoying playing with the boat

Thus we were again off to the countryside and it was amazing to have these photos here in my camera.

We were through their beautiful traditional houses..

They served us with their traditional food no matter they didn't even know us. It was a pleasure to talk with them and know about their lives..

We saw two cute kids in their traditional dresses and it was always worth it to take photos of them.. Not sure they dressed up just for us..

I was totally mesmerized by this attire

From the visit I could realize how blessed Shillong was with its beauty, culture, traditions and the life.

Travelling has many advantages and most important of it is that it keeps your mind refreshed plus gives you life lasting memories.. In my upcoming posts I will share more awesomeness from my travel diaries. Please stay tuned and show your support.

Thanks for reading

Namaste ;)
