2016 Perseid Meteor Shower FAIL...(original timelapse)

in #photography8 years ago

There was a lot of hype about the Perseid Meteor shower this year....from space.com:

This year, the peak was forecast to be particularly spectacular — the Perseids were in a rare outburst, according to NASA scientists.

The guides were predicting as many as a meteor per minute O_O So I got all set up , and it was perfect. I had an open view of the exact piece of sky the meteors were supposed to be most visible in. I just got my dummy battery to AC adapter, so I could run my camera all night. And I bought my ultra wide angle 10mm-16mm lens just for these kind of occassions.

And then...the clouds rolled in. Of course, I let it run anyway, hoping that the clouds would clear up at some point. But when I checked my footage...nothing. Still, I didn't want all the pictures to go to waste, so that's why this video was made. At least I got to learn how to use a bunch of different settings/effects in Adobe Premiere...Plus I like this song--this video is probably more accurately described as featuring the music and not the footage (there really wasn't much TO feature video-wise). Anyway...hope you guys like the song I guess :)
