Coin Collecting - Lincoln Wheat Pennies

I've collected a few different coins since I was small. I don't have a lot but I thought I would show the ones I have and try to find a little information about them.

The first Lincoln penny was circulated in 1909. It was designed by David Brenner and has had the same obverse ("head") side since its creation. In 1959, the ears of wheat on the reverse were exchanged for an image of the Lincoln Memorial, which it has borne ever since.

The 1935 penny is worth approximately $.35 in its condition. The 1937 is also $.35, the 1944 worth $.15, and the 1948 also worth $.15.

I'll post more if this post does well and you all would like to see and read about other US coins. I have dollar and fifty-cent pieces as well as various coinage from random foreign countries.

Thanks for looking! Stay tuned!

Bryan would be so jealous! I used to find some here and there while I worked at Richards, I'll have to see if he still has them! He has been working on collecting some other coins for the kiddos.

And.... We do not. I guess they unfortunately somehow got mixed in with some change we had cashed in. We had a penny from 1918! Ahh, what were we thinking??

Oh no! I'd be heartbroken too! Luckily, I have kept all of my coins stored away. It wasn't until Josie wanted to clean some dirty, regular pennies that I dug them out. I wish you still had yours!

The 1935 and 37 are in really nice condition for being that old. I've been collecting pennies since I was a kid, I still enjoy it. I have a bunch of older Canadian pennies as well as a bunch of U.S. pennies. I also have several old dimes and some buffalo nickels, the nickels are fun to collect because they don't cost as much, not being made with silver.

That's awesome, @amberyooper! You should take pics and post them sometime! I would definitely be interested.

I might do that this fall when I start running out of things to post about with my garden. :-)

This deserves recognition.
