Travel with Lessy: The Wild Side of Singapore
Singapore Zoo is one of the ‘must-see’ attractions in Singapore for both kids and adults. The Zoo is full of sights and activities. It has over 300 different species. Pretty cool, eh?
So, if you are planning to visit Singapore Zoo, allow at least half a day to enjoy what they have to offer, but a full day is ideal. Remember to keep one of their maps with you at all times, like what my parents and I did, so you can plan which exhibit, feeding session, show, or other activity to go to next.

TIPS FROM SINGAPORE ZOO’s MANAGEMENT:
To make your trip to Singapore Zoo safe, comfortable and memorable, here are some pre-arrival tips and advice.
"Be sun safe"
Bring along sunglasses or visors to protect your eyes from the solar glare. If you’re prone to sunburn, we advise using sunblock or sunscreen as well.
"Prepare for rain"
The weather in a tropical climate can be unpredictable. There are various sheltered areas within the Zoo in which you can take cover from the rain, but we suggest bringing an umbrella or raincoat. Otherwise, ponchos are also available on sale at our gift shops.
"Wear insect repellent"
The Zoo takes preventive measures against mosquitoes and other insects, to ensure they don’t present a problem. However, to make sure you don’t get any unexpected bites, have some insect repellent handy.
"Wear comfortable footwear"
Taking a leisurely stroll is the most flexible way to explore the Zoo, so make sure you wear comfortable footwear.
"Give your legs a rest"
There are many ways to explore the Zoo with minimum walking. Hop on our guided tram ride to explore the Zoo with minimal walking. In addition, many of the viewing galleries of our exhibits have seats that allow you to observe the animals comfortably. You can rest your feet there too.
"Mobility for children, the elderly and disabled"
Parents can rent strollers and wagons for their children. Wheelchairs are also available free-of-charge for the disabled, the elderly or special needs guests.
"Stay hydrated"
Bring enough drinking water. You can also purchase a wide selection of canned, bottled drinks, water and juices at our F&B outlets.
"Food"
Our F&B outlets are located throughout the Zoo. Try the breakfast with our orang utans and other animals at the Jungle Breakfast with Wildlife for a unique experience. Other choices available are the Ah Meng Restaurant, KFC, The Wild Deli and Casa Italia. There is also a Mandai Mart convenience store at the entrance.
"Don’t share your food with the animals"
Our animals are on well-balanced diets ensuring their best health and optimum weight – you are not being kind to them by feeding them.
Stay informed
If you are ever in doubt or need help, please do not hesitate to approach any of our uniformed staff members around the Zoo.
