Trip to Sirao Flower Garden and Temple of Leah in Cebu
Someone told me that the best way to heal a heartbreak is to travel and whisper your pain and worries in those places. A month after a breakup I finally had the courage to stand up and heal. It wasn't an easy decision really, I doubted if I was ready to take one step forward and leave the past behind. But this trip made me realize that it was indeed worth the step.
The journey was a bit tiring but was totally worth it. We rode motorcycles to reach Sirao Flower Garden and Temple of Leah. Each ride we took costs 300php, a bit pricy but was understandable since they would pick us up and wait for us to finish and take us to the next location. Although the ride took us a couple of minutes we weren't bored at all. The scenery on the way to both destinations was breathtaking.
This picture was taken in Sirao Flower Garden which is located at Brgy. Sirao, Cebu City. Going there in your own vehicle can save you from the hassle of transferring between vehicles and can save you from spending for the fare. Your landmark would be Ayala Heights, take a right turn to Sirao Flower Farm. The view is definitely worth the travel and money. The air was cool despite the glaring sun.
This was the motorcycle ride we had to take. My bestfriend took this photo for me.
Here are a few more shots of me at Sirao Flower Garden:
After A few minutes of picture taking I decided to whisper a memory of our past into the air before I left the place. It made me tear up, almost cried but it also made me feel a bit lighter. I guess travelling indeed does wonders for the broken heart.
Temple of Leah was our next destination which is located on top of the hill in barangay Busay in Cebu City. Temple of Leah is seven storeys high, and covers a land area of more than 5,000 square meters.. The temple was constructed in the year 2012. It was built as a symbol of the undying love and ceaseless devotion of Teodorico Soriano Adarna to his wife for 53 years, Leah Villa Albino-Adarna.
It was a beautiful place really but we visited it at a wrong time. They were doing major works on the temple so it couldn't be accessed yet. Plus there were yellow tapes surrounding it.
Despite this drawback, my bestfriend and I stii had fun. Here are a more pictures of us at Temple of Leah:
Travelling works magic not just to someone with a broken heart but also to people who wants to escape the chaotic race of the world and just relax. These two places we visited were worth the time, effort and cost. If you do visit Cebu or if you're in Cebu and haven't visited these 2 places yet, please do visit them. They're worth it and you'll also have fun taking a lot of pictures.
That's all for now. Please do tell me your thoughts or your experience if you've been to these places or similar places to this one :)
