Golden hour is the best time to take a silhouette photograph. Silhouette is created during sunrise and sunset. You don't need to edit the photo to achieve the silhouette effects you want. You just wait for sunrise and sunset to get the best effects for your silhouette photography.

Here is a shot of silhouette taken during sunset at Iligan City, Philippines. This photo was taken by my Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) mobile phone.
