Visiting Spice Bazaar İstanbul
Hi steemians :)
Yesterday I went to istanbul for buying some goods for my shop which in Yalova Shopping mall named “Star AVM”..and visited the Eminönü in İstanbul and took some photos for you...
Anyway at first I travelled “ Spice Bazaar” in Turkish called “Mısır Çarşısı”.. The name “Mısır” meaning “Egypt” was chosen because the Bazaar built the funds of incoming Egyptians taxes when it was an Ottoman Empire’s city and also second reason is the good that sell in this bazaar came from Egypt..
However foreign visitors to İstanbul called it Spice Bazaar, because the structure housed majority of the city’s spice trade...The market was built in 1660.
Today market continues to spice trades but on a different, more touristic scale with an abundance of merchants selling Turkish Delight and other traditional Turkish sweets.I think It isn’t wrong to say this is the oldest shopping mall in Turkey after the “Grand Bazaar”.
By the way I ‘ll share Grand Bazaar photos next time and unfortunatelly at this time I couldn’t take a lot of photos because of security. Spice Bazaar is one of the most crowded market in Turkey and Controls of the security teams is the high level in here..
Thank you for reading
have nice day:)
