I Got a Job.....But I Can't Decide: Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort
Good evening you guys! I just wanted to pop in here and tell you about some recent developments in my everyday life.
As you guys all know I'm a food maker, photographer, and writer so as you can see, I like to stay very busy. Recently I've been scouting so possible job opportunities to add even more variety to my day and then to my posts for you guys. That's why I applied at last weekend's job fair at Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort here in Sandpoint Idaho where I'm currently spending the summer. I must say it was like a ghost town up there compared to when I last came, but that's because they haven't opened yet. As soon as summer season starts that place will be hopping.
Okay here's the thing, I am so indecisive guys and I need your help. I applied to about 4 positions and I got offers from 2 of them already! The problem is that I really like the sound of them both but they are sort of different. The first is a serving/waitressing spot at the Chimney Rock and the second is a job at their adorable little soup and sandwich cafe called Gourmandie. I'm leaning towards the latter for the fact that I know I've got plenty of experience in that type of thing (wink wink😉 ).
So, I'm asking you for your opinion on what I should choose. Tomorrow I'm meeting with the executives at Schweitzer to make my decision but I wanted you guys all to give me your thoughts first. Which one, that's the question??? Chimney Rock or Gourmandie Cafe?
not to sway your decision, but something about Gormandie just looks super cozy and wonderful. :))
That seems to be the crowd favorite - thanks so much @rangertx
nice pictures.
Thanks again @rangertx
Wow, nice sharing. You are really a photographer..I mean the photo is just great. For your job chosing, I have never been to there, so cannot give you much advice. But I think you should talk a bit more to the employer to understand the job nature, the working style before you really chose one.
Great recommendation, thanks so much @victorier
Go for the one which will give you the most new experience (in places that you actually want to develope experience in) or pick the one which you think you'll enjoy the most. The latter sounds great, but that's me personally and I'm not you!
I really do think that this may be my most read post ever. People are actually commenting on questions posed in the post. Thanks so much for reading my post and then commenting @playfulfoodie
Not a problem! I know how tough these kind of decisions can be. I hope the comments will help you make a good decision :-)
pick the one which you think you'll enjoy the most. ...@playfulfoodie
I also wanted to write that for you. :) Good luck! @gringalicious
Thanks so much @bontonstory
Maybe this can help (hopefully my math is about right)! lol
Work Value Formula =
happiness level (0-100%) * educational experience (0-100%) * salary (0-100%)
workload (0-100%)
I am impressed by such a thoughtful response @alexpmorris. Thank you so much!
hey no problem, just hope it helps you come to the best decision for you! :)
Love that equation man! Adding it to the repertoire :-)
glad you like it, didn't think it'd be such a hit! lol
Great equation! Definitely using that one in the future :)
Thanks @monica17
wellcome
Beautiful pictures..doing a great job...upvoted
Thanks so much @charles1
Great
Thanks so much! @bobvghn
Oh I think working at a place called "Gourmandie Cafe" would totally suit you @gringalicious! Wow, Schweitzer in the summer is going to keep you hopping, not to mention the fact that you will be busy blogging along with working on top of the mountain. Good luck with whatever you choose!😊
Thanks so much @generikat! I'm going to keep your advice in mind.
I would definitely go with the Gourmandie Cafe @gringalicious, as you get to keep up your cooking practice. instead of just handing out dishes.
Also you can keep making pictures of the food you create on the job, and write blog posts when you get back home :)
Are you taking this as a part-time thing? Because your blog seems to be kind of successful no?
You're very observant @erikdenoorman and I think you're right about the smaller venues. Oh, and yes I'll be sharing a lot!
I agree with you .
