The Spirit of Tarkovsky in Sopoćani
This photo I shot on April 1 this year in front of Sopoćani monastery, Serbia. I was leaving the monastery with my tourist group and decided to capture the scene of a dog looking at us. When I got into the bus I send the photo via messenger to a friend expecting that he would like it. He responded to me that in the moment when he received the photo he was reading Diaries of Andrei Tarkovsky, and wrote as a comment on the photo 'Tarkovsky - scene'. And really, I had Tarkovsky in my mind when I shot it, thinking about his characteristic movie scenes where the presence of alsatian dog awakes deep feeling of calm, nostalgia and spirituality.
