각기 다른 동그라미들이 사는 네모(Square with different circles)

스펙 우선,
안정성 중심으로 살아온
한국은 네모의 천국이다.

세상도 사람도 둥근데
생각과 행동은 네모에 맟춰져 있다.

부모들은 아이들을
네모 안에 집어넣어야 불안하지 않다고,
남들만큼은 했 다고 자신을 위로한다.

국민소득 2만 달러, 세계 10위권의
경제 규모를 가진 한국의 국민 행복 등수는
매우 절망적이다.

스스로가 원하는 삶을
살지 않으니 행복할 수가 없다.
이런 상태는 장기화되면 이제는
내가 정말 뭘 원하는지도 모르게 된다.
'의식도 못 한 채 그냥 숨만 쉬고 있는'지도 모른다.

지금 아이들과 부모들은
행복해지려고 그 고생을 하는 것이 아니다.
오히려 불향해지지 않으려
아등바등하는 쪽에 가깝다.

나는 그들에게 강조하고 싶다.
탁월하지 않음이 뒤쳐졌음을 뜻하는 것은 나니라고!

8살인 막내아들이 거울 앞에서
자기 모습을 한참이나 들여다보며
무척이나 황홀해하고 있기에, 살며시 다가가 물었다.

"아들 지 금 뭐하는 거예요?" 그러자 아이가 대답했다.
"그냥 이게 나라는 사 실을 믿을 수가 없어요."

인간의 각 개체는
온갖 다양한 연속체 중에서 유일무이하다.
인간은 이미 존재만으로도 특별하다는 거다.
