Futuristic Fashion Photography - Part I
Today I want to share with you my most favorite picture I made last year for a futuristic fashion project. During my research of this project, I looked into how I could display the "new" fashion in a possible future scenario.
My main idea was to create a future in which the enormous amount of plastic in the world forces people to make clothes consisting only out of plastic. This possible scenario is no longer far away from us, as I am more and more starting to see that this is already reality in contemporary fashion.
This image has been elaborated as a possible advertising shot of beauty in the future, that is not to say that I support this idea. It is a purely fictional work with no specific intention of criticising/calling for action.
I also got really inspired by the designs of the Dutch Fashion designer Iris van Herpen, she describes her work as: "fashion where normal rules do not apply and a combination of craftsmanship and innovative techniques." Each collection has its own story, such as a collection about invisible radiation and signals around us that make all telecommunications possible. I absolutely love her designs and wanted to use something similar in my project (this is something I will tell more about in a later post, since it does not apply to this image I'm sharing today)
