What freedom really looks like

in #photography7 years ago

This night was pretty amazing... Few hours earlier, I was bored at the office, dreaming of another rooftop... After work, I went home to prepare my equipment, and I took a cab to this building I already visited with a really good friend a few weeks before... But I'm telling you, reaching where I am in this picture was not that easy, and I wasn't ready to do it the first time I was there.

I waited for the sun to do down, on the balcony that you can see on the lower part of the picture. There I enjoyed the view, and I also hang on a pipe, but I will show you that next time. Right before it got dark, it started raining, so I hesitated to go through with this climb, but I knew it was very safe to do as long as I stay calm. So I reached this point and after a few seconds, a security guard spotted me... And I thought... Well.. He's not going to come and get me anyway, so I will get my shot, climbing here was difficult. So the guard just looked at me taking my shot, you can see him with his flashlight on the balcony! And you can also see that it was raining.

The view there was AMAZING and the city was so beautiful... I enjoyed the view for a few minutes, ignoring the guard, ignoring everything and really appreciating the feeling. After getting my picture, I climbed down and... 7 guards were waiting for me! At first I was scared to have some troubles, but they were very friendly and smart security guards. I just told them that I was a photographer and I wanted to picture this beautiful city and building. So they instantly realised that I wasn't a threat at all and they got really interested in what I do, enjoyed my pictures, stories, and they even took a selfie with me! I wish that all security guards were like them, we talked for an hour and a half about everything, and then I left... A beautiful memory among so many others!!!

Thank you very much for reading !
