The Lookout Hut at North Berwick Harbour, Scotland
This is the Lookout Hut at North Berwick Harbour. Situated at the tip of the harbour on some rocks that are connected by little metal bridges you can walk over to it and then past it to the very edge.
Its a lovely spot with great views which is likely why its where they chose to put it! I'm not sure it still has a practical purpose, but once upon a time it was used to look out for boats and signal to them from the shore. North Berwick doesn't have a lighthouse so
this would replace the light house's function. The pole on top of the hut would be used to put up different flags which would be how they communicated with the boats. Of course nowadays they probably just facetime or skye the boat from the comfort of the local pub instead.
This is an HDR photo I took with 3 bracketed exposures to make the HDR blend. It was taken handheld instead of on a tripod so I am amazed it turned out this good. It was even super windy so double miracle it worked!
