Hiking Northern Spain #2 Beach of Zarautz

Part two!

This is the view from the highest point in the hike, looking down onto the beach of Zarautz. This hike starts at sea level and ends at sea level, connecting two beach towns but climbing up over a steep hill to do so.

I often made the trek from Zarautz to Getaria when I worked here in the village as a teacher. The village is a prized surf spot that is now world renowned for hosting a number of surf contests.
