Submerged Haven and Finally Getting My Ducks in A Row

Okay, I admit that I actually meant "literally" about "getting my ducks in a row." The figurative part is a lifetime in the making. I thought of that thought because my first shot of those ducks actually looks like this.

I like going out on weekends and even though my significant other would rather stay home and rest, he's supportive that I'm a mustang and staying in the house would make me depressive so we've often hang out places nearby and enjoy nature or some good food. It just helps unwind.

Something about nature is so therapeutic it heals whatever bothers you have inside. We slept on in the whole weekend so I missed out on the sun. Though it was late when we decided to take a stroll, I asked my hubby to take me to one of my favorite havens on this side of the earth.

I went there to play with some of my favorite animals and I was a bit shocked when I saw that their playground is submerged in this much water. I can barely see the poles of the fences that keep them in this habitat because only the last one has its top above the water level.

I guess that explains why it was too foggy the other day. On our way to Winterswijk it was this unusually too foggy even though it was already 11 am.

I was starting to worry that my beautiful playmates have drowned but they're one of the smartest animals on earth so I doubt it. Lots of plants, grasses and them naked trees are swimming in the cold murky water though.

I've never been on this side of the place but I've tried following their dung hoping I'd find them there but just more of them proof that the water level is too high these days. Probably cause of the storm? Worried? No, we're not, the Dutch are the masters of the water and I think someone up there loves them so much, too. There are many righteous people here. He has a soft heart to those who are He shan't forsake us.

I could hear a lot of them birds and every now and then a row of them ducks would fly above us but I have only seen this couple swimming for food. I think she spotted me. They're quite far away so I had to use the 200mm lens but the auto doesn't seem to help on a gloomy day or I was doing it wrong.

We headed to the other side and we've never really gotten this far. My playmates were just normally in the clearing we didn't have to cross the bridge but this time we did. We finally saw how deep the water is(that's my hubby checking out how deep it is.) In summer, we could stroll under this bridge and the ones who live on the other side could drive on the path on its side but this time they can't. The water level would surely drown their car.

I wonder if the water has ever gone this far and close to the sidewalk here but it even created a mini pond of the other side where I saw these thistles. I tried taking a pic of them and a guy on a green coat with his Nikon saw me in action and asked spontaneously; "with a flash?" I told him, I haven't read the manual so I just put it on auto.

He reached for my cam and set it to P and I was a bit surprised and probably my hubby, too. No one's allowed to touch my stuff without asking permission and he just did hahahhaha.. ^___^ !

Oh well, he did helped me take a more natural pic and even gave me advice to watch films about how to use my D Eye if I'm no fan of reading. I guess my folks are wrong about talking to stranger. This one's taught me something huh?

I wanted to try to take a pic of that epic bridge from afar so I walked further and did. The train is a just a bonus.

I found another path and my curiousity took me further while my husband explores what seem to be an old mill in there.

Am glad I gave in to my feet's itch cause look what I found! My playmates! Safe and happily grazing just behind the mill. I don't dare go near them cause I'm not sure its safe specially that there's a bull in sight.

It was really dark so we went back home. You may not believe it cause the sky registers to be white on the pictures but it was actually already hard to see and watch out for the poop everywhere. Here's proof that the sun has left this earth when we left my lil' heaven on this side of earth.
