The huge whale stranded in Paris that has impacted the world

With stunned eyes and without credit to what their eyes see, passers-by and tourists have been hit with a huge whale stranded on the side of the River Seine in Paris. The image of the impressive cetacean, which is a few meters from the Cathedral of Notre Dame, has gone around the world and has generated many wonder how it got there.

It's actually a fake whale. This is a hyperrealist sculpture installed by the Belgian collective "Captain Boomer" as a way of raising awareness about the dramatic effects of climate change on the planet. It is 15 meters long, was created in 2007 and has already been the protagonist of similar interventions in Spain and England.

"It is rare that a whale stings, but when it happens today, the society's reaction is a great sadness?" Said artist Bart Van Peel, one of the makers of the art project.
According to Van Peel, the objective of the "whale" is to immerse the public "in the reality we have created and forces it to position itself," according to El Espectador. "Even if it's false, it's a good idea to raise awareness," says a tourist who was shocked by the whale.
