The Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau are next to the Matterhorn probably the most famous mountains in Switzerland.
Their heights range from 3'970 (Eiger) up to 4'158 (Jungfrau) meters above sea level.
The Eiger Nordwand was first climbed on July 24, 1938 by a German-Austrian group. They needed 3 days for the climb.
The times change, and in 2015 the Swiss climber Ueli Steck set the current record to 2 hours and 22 minutes for the 1'800 meters north face, which is the biggest north face in the Alps.
Either way, the closest I came to them was by flying only.. 😉
