Olkaria hot springs - Naivasha

There is a quaint little town right next to ,Nairobi, which is Kenya's capital city called Naivasha. Naivasha offers a lot from wildlife drives, clubbing experience, cultural heritage, eating joints. It has it all! But my favorite has to be the hot springs at Olkaria. This is where Nairobi electricity comes from. But there is a natural water spring that has the best temperature water which is also said to be medicinal.

My friends and I visited this heavenly place this past weekend and it was such a relaxing way to wind up a rather tiring week.

The KenGen Olkaria Geothermal Spa is located inside Hells Gate National Park which is managed by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS). Hells Gate is very massive and has several entrances so you have to be very particular the gate you’ll use.

We later went in search of accommodation and were referred to a nice little cabin called Pink lake man which was a few minutes drive from the Olkaria hot springs. We had a decent meal and just chilled by the fire side until the wee hours of the morning when we decided to go sleep in their eccentric rooms which were very comfortable.

The decor in the house is very unique from the wall paintings, to the old school furniture and even their cute little dogs which I couldn't get enough of being an animal lover.

Even tried my hand at quad bike riding. It was very dusty and immediately regretted it since it meant having to wash my freshly done hair.

If you're in Kenya please make this part of your visit and for those outside Kenya please have it in your bucket list. I will definitely be back to this awesome place. Might change my accommodation to a place with more wild animals though!
