Bougainvillea is a genus of thorny ornamental vines, shrubs and trees belonging to the four bells of the Nyctaginaceae family. Bougainvillea should be planted on high ground or hillsides, not in swampy or low-lying areas where water can collect. They will grow well if given enough space to spread out and should be planted where they receive a minimum of 5-6 hours of sunlight per day. This flower is very beautiful.
