Zagreb in black and white
Hi,
Today I will present my view of Zagreb in a few photos and a small story. Zagreb is the capital city of Croatia.
All photographs are captured by me and some of them were presented on my first solo exhibition featuring motives from old part of the Zagreb city. Old city of Zagreb was founded in 1094.
The most beautiful and tourist favorite part of the city's is Upper town or old city (Croatian: Gornji grad) where I often walk and look for interesting motives for my photos.
The Zagreb Funicular (Croatian: Zagrebačka uspinjača), connecting the Ilica Street (Donji Grad) to the north (Gornji Grad). Its 66 metre track makes it one of the shortest public-transport funiculars in the world. Built in 1890.
The origins of the Stone Gate date back to as early as 1266. Today the restored archway forms a key part of the ruins of the ancient city walls. Inside this stone gate you can also find a chapel which has an interesting story. During the great fire in 1731. everything was burnt down except the picture of Holy Mother, even the frame was burnt completely. The same picture is still exibited there.
Beatiful shots. Quite colorful
