Medellín is the second most important city in Colombia, and capital of the Department of Antioquia; its average temperature is 24º and it is located 1,475 meters above sea level; It has an area of 105 square kilometers of urban land, 270 of rural land and 5.2 of land for expansion.
The city is located in the center of the Aburrá Valley, in the Cordillera Central, and is crossed by the Medellín River, in the north it borders the municipalities of Bello, Copacabana and San Jerónimo; from the south with Envigado, Itagüí, La Estrella and El Retiro; in the east with Guarne and Rionegro and in the west with Angelópolis, Ebéjico and Heliconia.
