Lifting You Up!
Today I am writing a short post that is more about the pictures than anything. This past weekend I went to the Brookeville Dam beach area in Indiana to meet up with some of my acro yoga buddies from Cincinnati. We had a great time and we were able to capture some pretty cool pictures while there. The topic picture is of my friend Lori flying and me basing. This is a relatively simple pose for me as really I am just sticking my feet in the air! We did this and another few simple poses because there were only 3 of us to begin.
Then we stepped it up a level and did a hand to hand, which is a much more difficult pose:
Finally a few more friends came and we could do some really dope group shots....
...we also had a fantastic fall caught on camera!
before we figured out this cool 4 person stack...
Thanks for checking it out! I love doing acro yoga and always love seeing my Cincinnati friends!
Upvote and resteem if you thought this was cool!

Wow Curt, these photos are so cool! I love all of the but the group shots boggle my mind- ive just sat here a full 5 minutes trying to figure out how you got into position 😀
I did a tiny bit of acro whilst I was at the circus, but tended to let the others got on with it, being the wuss I am. Loved your post- brought the memories back!

Thanks a bunch! I love doing it and playing with the strength and balance that it requires. Glad to take you through Memory Lane
@eveningart The hard part of the 4 person pose was getting the very top person up. First thing was putting the person on my legs into throne and then the person all the way up top stepped on my thigh to gain enough height to where the person doing throne could put her hands under her arms, and then she pressed it the rest of the way up. The press is the hardest part as it is the easiest point to lose balance. Once it is up it is pretty easy to hold!
Too cool! I have a dream of trying acro yoga one day.
That last 4 person stack - how strong do you have to be? Damn.
Great pix thanks for sharing them.

Go ahead and try it. If you live near any mid to large sized metropolitan area there is likely a group that gets together to practice and introduce new acro yogis. That stack one requires more balance than strength. My legs are big and can hold quite a few people, the hard part is as it gets tall, the balance becomes much more difficult.
That's awesome, @curtross. I never even knew acro yoga existed.
Haha. Now you know! It’s a great workout and lots of fun. There is various levels to it and most anybody can do entry level poses.
That is very cool! Great photos!
thanks a bunch!!
Yay for Acro Yoga! These are fabulous pics. I'm so glad you're sharing this here. :)
Thanks for taking a look. It’s always nice to talk to a fellow Acro yogi! Although it sounds like you may be into all forms of yoga!

Yeah I totally do that with a few buds over a beer talking about life and politics. Seriously though I find it quite impressive how they can do that, pretty sure I would be out on the first shakey part never mind a fall.
That final stack is pretty cool, totally just chilling
haha, we try not to "fly" or "base" while under the influence. Luckily, we didnt chat politics at all as we know how that always goes! Yeah, I feel happy to be the base and be lifting people up. I have a ton of admiration and respect for the flyers who trust me to keep them balanced and safe.
I'm jealous LOL!
haha, no one has said you cant try it yourself!
great pics... some very good balance and strength shown here!
thanks a bunch!
Cool post Curt!
well done
Thanks a bunch! Pictures turned out pretty well!
