My Analog Endeavor

in #photography7 years ago

About a year ago I bought my first film camera. I do own a digital camera, which I use for video, but when it comes to photography, I feel the analog approach suits my creative style best.
I’ve always been one to want to be hands on. And when it comes to capturing a moment in time, the work that goes into each picture, that gives me more satisfaction than any digital photo really could. With that being said, I feel like knowing the process itself will take a lot more time makes me more careful and think a lot more about composing my shots before I fire away with my shutter.
Now, don’t think in any way I dislike digital or think that style of photography isn’t impressive in its own ways. I just don’t think it suits my style, I’m kind of a anal/obsessive person. And I need the limitations and constraints that film has, in order to discipline my impulsive tendencies, and to learn more patience...

So, for about 8 months now, I’ve been developing my own film.
Here’s a couple of my favorite photos I shot in the last few months on my medium format Petri III (1951). The film I was using was Ektar 100.

Let’s just say this was on purpose... and that I didn’t retake each individual photo and then decide that I didn’t like either as much as I did this one.

I always love a little motion blur.

Let me know what you think of my post, and as always...32E20126-86C5-4090-B1EA-F82C518A1F29.gif
