Thanks for your comment and glad to hear you had a positive first experience in Japan! Tokyo is for sure interesting but I've found Kyoto is a better place to experience more traditional Japanese culture, although both have a fair number of tourists these days. And yes, both are quite clean, but I would say Kyoto is even cleaner and more inviting than Tokyo :)
If you end up going to Kyoto, I'd be happy to recommend things to see and places to eat!
Yes, for discovering the traditional Japanese culture, Kyoto is the better option. Being on a tight budget (as well as time constraints), I couldn't go there. I was "stuck" in Tokyo, but I didn't complain because that's just one more reason for me to come back to Japan!
If I do go back to Japan and visit Kyoto, I'll be sure to hit you up!
