constantshots photofeed: A path between the boulders
Today I wanted to share some of the photos I took shortly after we arrived in the forest of Fontainebleau about 50km south of Paris. We spend almost the whole day bouldering in a sector called Rocher Canon. It is a big scetor with lots of boulders which are all located around or ontop of a small hill. The forest is more dense here than in other parts. Mostly oaks, birchs and pines are growing and often with a thick carpet of ferns underneath. A hiking path leads over sandy soil or log paved paths through the maze of boulders. It bends around almost every boulder so one can discover all these crazy sandstone figures along the path. At one point you even have to crouch underneath two leaning rocks. Right at the beginning of the sector, there stands one big oak. It grows directly on one of the first sandstone boulders, reaching down into the soil with one gigantic root.
