Carnevale di Viareggio - analogic photography [ENG]
Last weekend I've been to Carnevale di Viareggio for the first time in my life and it's been a unique experience.
All the town is dressed up, from the youngest to the oldest people, everyone is happy and you can breathe the festive atmosphere everywhere.
And the floats: they're astonishing. Built using only paper and moved only by human hands, they's tall as a 4floor palace and they can contain dozens of people dressed up in masks, dancing and singing.
Every float is opened by a parade of masks, the volume of the music let you move in time, and everybody sings the carnival songs.
I'm still surprised, fascinated and happy to be involved in such a great experience that you cant' really explain: it's an entire city that reveals itself in its most beautiful aspect, it's about hundred of people forgetting their problems and become young again, for once in a year.
(and that's me wearing one of my favourite mask of all the time: the T-REX!)
