August 2015, photo from the mast of the former radio center №3
There were several old photos taken in August 2015 with one of the two remaining masts of the Radiocenter №3 of them. The Comintern. The center functioned since the 50s of the last century. This facility was one of the seven main radio broadcasting centers of the USSR for foreign countries in the HF range. Now in the territory of the former RC is building a stadium for the 2018 World Cup.
Altogether there were about two dozen antennas, different heights - from 40 to 140 meters. They provided high-quality broadcasting to foreign countries in the HF range. The choice of Samara, at that time Kuibyshev, was due to the geographical location, which allowed to cover HF broadcasting almost all continents.
That's what the construction of the Samara-Arena stadium looked like in autumn 2015. Now the stadium is almost ready, in a few days the first match will take place at a new sports facility.
