Elsa started off in the modeling world and was a spirited child of Studio 54 era - a darling of the NYC scene, who later became a revered designer for Tiffany's
Helmut Newton, born Helmut Neustaedter, in Berlin, Germany in 1920. Studied at the American School in Berlin.
In 1938, he fled Hitler's Germany to China, stopping in Singapore until 1940, then moved to Australia.
In the 50's he began shooting for Australian Vogue, then British Vogue in 1957-1958, and French Vogue in 1961. An avalanche editorial jobs spanned his entire career, centering primarily on fashion, nudes, and portraits.
He died as glamorously as he lived, in true Hollywood style, by injuries from a car accident at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, California in 2004.
