The Blood Moon - Supermoon 21/01/2019
On the 21st January 2019, there was a Supermoon/Blood moon.
As an aspiring photographer, I obviously wanted to try and capture this with my camera, so I decided to stay awake all night until 4am to try and shoot the moon in it's full glory.
Ideally I wanted to get the red moon/blood moon, which wasn't due to happen here in the UK until 4am, but unfortunately by that time, the sky had been completely covered with cloud.
I am so happy that I decided to stay awake all night rather than set my alarm for 3am, otherwise I would have missed any chance of capturing the supermoon.
The following shots were taken at 11pm and 1am while the moon was still visible.

This one was taken at 1am with a soft red glow to the clouds and is my favourite of the 3 shots...
This was taken at 11pm. with the trees reaching towards the moon...
This was taken at 9pm, a clear sky and good view of the Supermoon...

Wonderful shots and dedicated to stay up all night to get them, what a pity the clouds spoiled your chance of the red Moon, but the one with the trees is my favorite it is fabulous

Wow, you did get some very nice shots of the moon! I also decided against setting my alarm for 4am to see the eclipse... luckily, it was also very cloudy on this side of the Channel as well!

Thank you @wales :) We had a video lesson provided to us by our photography tutor during the daytime before the supermoon, so I swatted up before hand and set my camera up as he showed us. I am pretty pleased with the results as it is only the sigma 18 - 300mm lens
