Yesterday On Seabreeze RoadsteemCreated with Sketch.

I Was Out On Seabreeze Road Yesterday ..

Heading toward Seabreeze NJ. I was out in this desolate area to meet a client at her home. Her home is a few miles away from the actual end of the road where it meets the Delaware Bay. I have been out at this particular home several times, but never took the road the rest of the way. Yesterday I decided to do just that.

It’s a meandering road..

That wanders through the salt hay and what is left of storm weathered trees. Every so often I would come upon a tidal pool or stream like extension of the bay water; like capillaries off a vein. Bad comparison? Perfect for the Halloween season though.. Haha. This was truly nature vs man. Nature is beginning to win back, claim back what was once hers. The grass and soil are beginning to over take the roadway. The tidal waters are eating away at some of the roadway. The sun and rain are taking its toll on the drivable surface. I am thinking since the area is only inhabited by one or two people, the county will not make any repairs in the future.

The drive out to the end.. Not a whole lot to see but clear skies, roadway, some traces of wildlife, and of course nature.. Lots and lots of nature. Sprawling marsh grass and salt hay.

Seabreeze circled in yellow. Probably not worth the trip out unless your in the area.

Below are a few more pictures ..

I was able to capture while traveling out to the end of the road.. Seabreeze, Nj.. I would of gotten one of the actual river, but a gentleman in his truck was giving me a hard time for being there. I was uncomfortable, so I left without causing any drama. Trust your gut I always say!

Seabreeze Rd just before it opens up to hmmmm... almost nothing but vast sprawls of grass. You can see the salt hay off to the right.

I look down and almost step on my friend the Fiddler Crab. They are very quick, but this one was just sitting there wondering what the heck I’m doing clear out here in the middle of nowhere. Hehe

A tree within the vast salt hay. Obviously dead but makes for a pretty photo. Do you see the butterfly that got into my shot. Right by the top right of the tree. Lol. Silly thing.

How beautiful is this??!! The tidal salt water pushing its way toward high tide. Some of the water was crossing over the road on my way back through. So serene. So peaceful. So beautiful.

I reached the end (see photo at very top) then made my return trip. This is upon exit of the marsh. So sad to not have had more time to photo hunt. Maybe a Saturday trip someday soon.

Further Information if you so desire..

Don Woods wrote an article about the area, back in March of 2017, I found this on NJ.com - He wrote..

In its heyday, before the Warner House burned down and the resort town started to lose its battle against the tide, it was a two-hour carriage ride to get to Sea Breeze from nearby Bridgeton. Now known as Seabreeze, you can drive there in 15 minutes down a winding 5-mile-long road through Fairfield Township in Cumberland County. Except for the last remaining year-long residents and a handful of seasonal homes, there's little reason to visit and see -- with nature reclaiming most of the area. It's not a ghost town but you would be forgiven for thinking it. Standing on the beach, it feels like you reached a lost frontier. The beach is lined with rubble and Delaware shores can be seen across the bay. Upstream, steam can be seen billowing from PSEG Nuclear's Hope Creek nuclear plant. At the end of Seabreeze Road, one of the last remaining residents lives in a house raised up to avoid flooding -- leaving the front door several feet in the air with no stairs leading to it. They declined to speak for this article. Seabreeze isn't a place you find accidentally. It's in its own hidden corner of South Jersey. But once, it was a thriving beach resort where people went to sunbathe, go bowling and imbibe…

About Me ~ The Artist

My art work incorporates a wide variety of subject matter, including landscape, seascape, cityscape, and still life images. My works are the product of a continuing process of exploration through which I seek to portray personal and visionary interpretations of my surroundings. My paintings are impressions of places and events from everyday life, an interpretation of my imagination, and personal responses to what I see and feel on a daily basis. More recently I have invested generous amounts of time into my landscape painting. I am surrounded by natural and man made beauty, which inherently presents itself in the tri-state area, and almost demands that I paint it.

Not everything is art. Art is not everything, but it comes close. Art is everywhere and all the time. Art makes you experience the beauty of the world, the people in it, and the places we call home. Art itself is so influential that it can tell stories, show feelings, and express passion or fury. Art exists in addition to language; expression of sensations and thoughts, revealing a way of thinking too subtle and delicate for words.

For me art requires love, honesty and perseverance. In return, it reveals some personal, non-analyzable, and creative untamed passion. For the public, art with its magnificent beauty, improves mood and health and builds better human beings and communities. It engages the intellect, softens the heart, strengthens the soul and frees the spirit.
