Photography inspired...
I have always been a fan of photography and photo-editing, so when I finally got my $50 LG phone with HD Camera and a 64gb SD card, I decided to start snapping pictures and using the editing software on my phone to make some art... I have had many people give compliments on my FaceBook posts, and several of my friends and family have suggested that I share them here to possibly inspire others to follow their passion! You never know what you're good at until you give it a try, and if you happen to love what you're good at, it's even better! Let me know what you think?
I took this picture on a rainy day from inside my car, looking through the window into the mirror, I had an idea for a black/white contrast concept...
This picture was actually right after the rain had stopped... the sun was setting and I snapped this shot outside my grandma's house!
I frequently take trips to the island and enjoy the lake with my dog or even just with friends, smoking and listening to music while we chat about life and thoughts... I thought this might be a good picture to use for inspirational quotes, but I just really like the way it ended up looking...
There were some more pretty amazing storm clouds, looming over Havasu... I couldn't resist capturing the moment, and giving it a little somethin' extra! Really somethin'...
This was taken right outside of town, where many people like to camp and rock climb or hike the trails... I always liked how typical this rock formation looked, when you think of Arizona... we call this "The Claw"
Another picture I was thinking of using for inspirational quotes... I just can't get enough of the sunsets in Lake Havasu, really!
There was a fun-fair in town and I was snapping some pics when I noticed three stars or planets were forming a neat triangle over the lake and rides... The way the software renders the glow adds a nice ambience to the atmosphere...
I took a close-up of some grass in the field at the park one day because I wanted to test the detail of my camera and thought I could potentially use the texture for a design in Second Life... I never used it, but I still really like the way it looks!
This was taken out of town, at a place called "Crystal Cliffs" in Desert Hills, AZ... I really love the quiet nature of the cliffs, and the grass growing out of the water is amazing to watch on breezy days! Sometimes, you can see schools of fish in the water, or you might see flocks of ducks socializing... I wanted to capture as much as I could in one shot, so I made sure to get right on the edge of the cliff for this one!
Another shot from Crystal Cliffs, looking over the water towards California... I can't believe how cool this one turned out, it kind of looks like something from an alien world, yet still has that familiar feel to it! I've used this one as my FaceBook cover photo for a while now, and I keep getting compliments!
Near the water, I was looking at the refraction when I had the curiosity of snapping a photo and editing the contrast and saturation values.... to my surprise, the light was almost perfectly defused into a rainbow, and the software brought the colors to life, even revealing some small water bugs in the details! Could make a neat background...
And this is actually in the same spot where I took the picture of the water, only I thought the tree looked really awesome, growing its roots right into the side of the lake-shore, and the lighting turned out wonderful after touching the pic up with the phone's editing software! I get a lot of compliments on this picture as well, sometimes even I am really surprised by the moments I was lucky enough to capture...
And that's it, for now! I really hope you enjoyed my photos, and I also sincerely hope this may spark inspiration for some who may think photography is expensive or difficult! This phone was only $50 and works SO MUCH BETTER than some of my older, $120 digital cameras... and it goes on FaceBook and YouTube BY DEFAULT! You can find cheap tripods that are built to hold cellphones, and you can even buy clip-on lens kits to get better filters and even fish eye! It really just takes a desire, and it really just takes the effort to give it a shot... if it's something you're even REMOTELY interested in, TRY IT... Show your friends and talk to others about their ideas and experiences... If you're good at it, and you LIKE it, maybe you could be the next National Geographic or Discovery photographer!? ANYTHING is possible!
Until next time, Namaste~<3
The first one is quite nice, the others are a bit overdone I think. Keep it up, though.
Thanks for commenting... I agree that I went "overboard" with the editing software, but these were done in fun out of curiosity! I will definitely keep your advice in mind, if I decide to make more in the future. <3
Amazing pictures @atrily!
Thank you so much! I'm just happy to share in hopes of inspiring others to try new things, even if they never have!
