The Great Wall ! (Simatai part) Beijing area, China

Hi steemians! Today we are on the great wall! As I only had the 3 days transit visa from Beijing, I decided to visit the great wall on Simatai part. The place has the advantage of being less touristy than the other sections of the Great Wall around Beijing because this is a little further away.

Renovations here have focused only on essential reinforcement work. Its original appearance is still preserved to let you feel the truly historic atmosphere, because on the most popular spot of the Great Wall its completely rebuilt and i was looking for the authenticity.

Unfortunately you can explore the great wall only for few kilometers but you have the possibility to explore the place by night if you pay an extra.

Mandarin Duck Lake lies at the foot of the wall, with a water town (Gubei Water Town) by the lake. You can experience at the same time the beauty of the water town as well as the grand Great Wall. I will show you that in my next post ;
