Hickory Tussock Caterpillar
Sure looks harmless enough. Spotted this caterpillar on the ground by my woodpile.
"The hairs of the Hickory Tussock caterpillar, which has black tufts on its back and black spikes, can cause an allergic reaction or rash for some people who make contact with the insect."
howdy again annephilbrick! Ya know, you fell off my radar after the hardfork, how are you doing with rc? is it limiting your comments? I've missed your comments on posts.
Really pretty caterpillar. Hope you aren't one of the people that are allergic :)

I sat in a chair recently that had a saddleback caterpillar in it and whoa did it cause some discomfort after stinging me between the shoulder blades. Now I am so paranoid about stinging caterpillars! I will give you an upvote after my voting power finishes recharging tomorrow. :)
