The blackbird it's obviously a bird. Common. Beautiful. Maybe gorgeous. A few images taken one day in the past, were among folders with various other birds… and today I took a few minutes to make them visible on the steemit, accessible on the net, for you and them… blackbirds. Of course, an explanatory text about this bird species should also be written. Who to do it, to be well done… coherent, written with soul…, so that it is a pleasure to read and feel that you love these creatures… Do I have time for this, I have the desire and the ability to make that presentation that raises to the level of hopes… so that it is not a trivial series of facts?

Blackbird… who to pay attention to? She can sing, she can live her life among us in cities… even if she is seen by people she is not seen by anyone… or at least she is not conscious. Very rarely does anyone stop to look at them. This bird has come to prefer more urbanized areas, and if you see how crowded the blackbird cities are, you may be a little surprised; not only through the Botanical Garden or through parks, but also through all kinds of blocks of flats, on the streets with gardens, you can see them almost everywhere; there are many more here than in any natural habitat, so they love the diversity of urban micro-habitats, with good nesting and feeding places, with hiding places from the weather or predators.

They are OK for them the countless bushes and trees where they can install their nests, but also the ivy on buildings or niches in buildings where you can try a kind of nesting. Maybe this way the nests have a chance to go undetected by thrush crows, rocks and sometimes crows that still eat blackbird eggs and babybirds… When they grow, four or five birdies as big as adults don't fit in the nest; but also the chances of survival are better if they spread, without being together. So, in May you can often see blackbirds in the parks that have plowed the nest; they still have some fluff on their heads, the tail feathers are short,… they are quite helpless and have a rather risky naivete, they don't have much ability to fly…, they are fed by their parents for a while… but they are lurking in countless dangers, including people benefactors who want to help and take them home; it is a period of great vulnerability, for a few days as it develops the ability to fly… a risky stage when many of them ending their existence as birds. In addition to the corvids that decimate their nests, both young birdies and blackbird adults can fall prey to domestic cats, so life in the city is not as perfect as in paradise.

Blackbirds look for food especially at ground level, among grasses, through the litter at the base of bushes or trees; grassy areas where insects, spiders, worms can gather… provide an excellent trophic base; our bird also eats cherries, grapes and berries of all kinds of ornamental shrubs or ornamental trees planted in cities; it can also consume household waste, apple stalks thrown casually by the townsman who passes among the buildings. The density of blackbirds is much higher in cities compared to their density in natural habitats; annually can grow three rows of babybirds in cities, while in nature annually have only two spawning. They even changed their migration behavior… while in the past the wild ones went for the winter to the southernmost areas of Europe, today's urbanized birds have become sedentary, they are present all year round; the city provides them with a temperature slightly higher than the extra-urban temperature, provides them with sheltered places where they can hide in the cold or blizzard… and especially provides them with some food in the winter… not much, just enough to he does not starve. So, they're fine. Males already start singing in February, at first only short trills, as a kind of training, then in March, April, you hear their real concerts. Especially in the morning, at the dawn of spring, and in the evening, at dusk, you hear the blackbirds singing with all their souls. You can see that they feel perfect in the city, they feel at home.

Beautiful photography and interesting subject ☺️

But it is very small ...! How beautiful it is, I don't seem to see it in my city. I have to be more careful ... Thanks for the nice pictures.
