Rembrandt inspired portrait photography
I have recently been studying the works of the Dutch Master Rembrandt and how he used lighting in his painted portraits.
With this knowledge, I wanted to attempt to replicate this lighting in a photo portrait in my studio. My friend Liam came along and we spent an hour or so trying out around 10 different lighting set ups I had designed with a final 'painterly' style in mind.
This is my favourite result from the day
