MORE THAN ALONE, WE ARE LOST
Perhaps as news, as a video or just a comment, you have heard about Venezuela
The country of the highest, largest and most modern cable car in the world, the beautiful beaches and mountains and the quality of people who live there
But at the end of all those wonders of which the Venezuelans tell you there is a great sadness in our words and our looks because you discover that the reality is that if you live there you want to flee with all your strength and if you've gone you want to get the others out of this country
I'm going to confess what a Venezuelan feels, I will not as a journalist, I will do as a Venezuelan
Life has become incomprehensible in this place, everything goes up in price and food and hygiene and cleaning products continue without getting, it is not known to be eaten today or tomorrow, purchases for long days were extinguished since this government began.
Now, the situation has been hopeless because in wanting to leave this government democratically, the opposition has organized and made the call of millions of peaceful protests for almost 4 months, protests that were repressed in their greatest expression taking lives and thousands of wounded, unfair arrests with torture and other horrors.
After these 4 months without counting the other old problems with which we already live thanks to the Bolivarian Revolution you ask what is the fight? Is it a good opposition? Or an opposition that was never and will not be able to defeat them?
Is it really worth dying on a street near your house just to lock it? Is it worth arming with stones and homemade shields to face firearms and gas bombs?
When power is still in the capital and the army and the National Guard is with President Nicolas Maduro the boys from 16 years of age to more or less 40 years go out in all states to "defend" the country, risking their lives without knowing if that will achieve something
I don't want to be pessimistic, but I think we're lost, at least without international aid. The pressures that have been pronounced these last few days have given a little hope but if this is called a war we do not have weapons and much less with armies to support us. Political leaders are not helping us, they only encourage us, as always
I'll just conclude with that I just don't know what to propose
i think we'll wait for a miracle, the ones we left.
