STEEM PHOTO JOURNAL #7
Welcome to the next issue of the Steem Photo Journal!
The SPJ is a @photofriend community project aiming to create a ‘must-read’ for every photo-enthusiast here on Steemit. The journal is intended to inform, entertain and engage the readers.
Julian Peters was born in 1996 in Karlsruhe, Germany. At the age of 8, Julian found an old analogue camera in his grandmother’s house and started taking his first photos. In 2006, he got his first digital camera. Even with this point-and-shoot camera, he quickly earned the nickname “Paparazzi” by his friends as he was snapping photos all the time.
It was not until 2013, that Julian got more serious about photography. At this time, Julian was living in Australia as an exchange student. This is where he attended a photography class at the college where he learned to shoot with an analogue camera on B&W film and developed the films in the school’s darkroom. With the Sony Alpha 37 he had got before leaving for Australia, Julian projected the skills he had learned on his digital photography and learned how to use Lightroom and Photoshop. He later created a photo calendar out of his best shots from Australia.
After graduating from high school, Julian set off on a 17-month trip around South America, Mexico, Cuba, Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia and Southeast Asia. With amazing motives every day, Julian managed to get many great shots and when he took a short break from travelling in Australia, he realized that the photos he was taking for fun on his travels had value and could be the key to finance further travels. He set up a photography website and submitted his photos to various microstock agencies, where he quickly managed to build up a passive income from photo sales. He is also selling photo licences directly on his websites and opened a business to sell his first photo calendar this year.
Julian is now taking his photos with a Nikon D5500 (APS-C) and a Nikon 10-20mm F4,5–5,6 as well as a Nikon 18-140mm F3.5-5.6 lens. He still does most of his photography on his travels but spends a lot of time with post processing when he is not on the road.
Julian had always thought about starting a blog about travel photography and budget travelling and when he joined Steemit in November 2017, he developed a posting style which he calls photo documentary that aims to tell a story with his photographies supported by interesting facts.
Julian also runs the curation initiative @travelfeed. If you have travel posts with at least 250 words, tag them with #travelfeed for a chance to be upvoted, resteemed and featured in the daily curation!

I thought Mr.JP would be a middle aged man for all his experiences and knowledge sharing. But i was mistaken. Hats off @jpphotography.
Great issue @photofriend.
