Danger!
Every year in September, Barcelona turns a customary blind eye to health & safety and hosts what must be one of the most exciting street parades in the world.
During Correfoc, revellers march through the city's dark streets carrying fire torches and sparklers as well as letting off thousands of fireworks directly from their hands.
Sound dangerous?
It is.
If you plan to get in as close as me to take your photos at this event you must expect your cameras to get damaged. In particular, the tiny shards of molten material which are constantly flying around will inevitably leave their mark on your lens, so take an old daylight filter with you that you won't mind throwing away afterwards.
My two cents...
In the pursuit of great photography, cameras are supposed to get used and abused...
If your kit looks too clean, you're probably not doing it right.
I advise you get a action camera with a protective case. It helps in the long run.

Your photos are fantastic! Even in low lighting with all the different sparks, you still captured such a great image with no blur. That's impressive! I use a UV filter on my camera all the time. I read somewhere that it helps protect the lens. It looks like whoever told me that had the same idea as you. I'm just an amateur though. ;)
