The anchient shipyard of Alanya
This ancient site was built in 1226 and is Turkey's only remaining Seljuk shipyard. Remarkably preserved, it boasts five docks, a small guardhouse, and restored stone arches. A leisurely stroll along the walkway reveals a number of archeological findings that have been put on display. Be sure to look for the inscription on the dockyard gate, featuring the emblem of Keykubat Sultan who commissioned the shipyard, decorated with rosettes.
